RSM External Re-Brand
(Corporate Communications/Branded Video)

Project Description:

In 2017, RSM, a world leading accounting company, declared its entry into Canada through the takeover of a Toronto based firm. To facilitate this substantial transition, they required both internal and external-facing messages to:

  1. Introduce their new corporate identity to the public, and
  2. Assure RSM clients and employees in Canada that the vision of the company is still one of passion, collaboration, mutual success, and something to be excited for.

This Rebranding video was the recipient of a Platinum Award for Corporate Image at the 2018 AVA Digital Awards.

Our process for this project:

  • Planned and strategized creative concept and style for targeted audience.
  • Reviewed main messaging and offered suggestions for script content.
  • Prepared a shot-by-shot storyboard designed to strictly follow branding guidelines and lay out creative vision.
  • Coordinated and directed a full day, multi-camera shoot in a studio space, where employees were brought in to deliver scripted sound bites.
  • Delivered first cut of edit for client review, once confirmed animation was added to support the messaging and add visual interest.

Outcome:

The RSM rebranding video is a display of Arc + Crown’s strong focus on pinpoint planning and story development to ensure a successful campaign. This video serves as a human connection to the individuals that make up RSM Canada, and it allowed those core values to define the company’s identity.

ISPA
(Culture Video)

Project Description:

ISPA is a company that cares about their culture, so much so that it’s front and center on their website. They wanted to create a video that could live on their site and be used in marketing material to tell their story both to prospects, current clients, and employees. The goal was to showcase who makes up their organization, why they care about fostering a good culture, and at the end of the day how it contributes to the amazing work that they produce.

Our process for this project:

  • Worked with their team to determine the best messaging, ideal employees to conduct interviews, and locations to capture throughout their facility.
  • Prepared interview prompts for each interview subject based on messaging.
  • Created a shoot schedule to lay-out minute-by-minute timing of the shoot day due to the various shots we needed to accomplish, including internal and external drone shots and timelapse.
  • Coordinated and directed a full day, shoot at their location where we captured beauty shots and numerous interviews.
  • Delivered both a 2-minute culture video along with a 15 second looping video for their website landing page.

Outcome:

The video content really captures the essence of who makes up ISPA and why it runs so effectively. You can tell that management cares about their employees and that the employees enjoy working there. It serves as a great reminder to everyone in-house why ISPA is such a special place to work, and it instills trust from clients and prospects that they are working with a team who cares about the quality of their work.

Town of Newmarket’s Storm Water Charge
(Corporate Communications/Animated PSA Video)

Project Description:

The Town of Newmarket was required to launch a short but informative PSA detailing a new storm water control charge on residents’ property bill. The project necessitated a simple to understand, persuasive approach to indicate the practical reasoning for this charge. To facilitate this approach, the Town of Newmarket collaborated with us to produce a 2-minute animation, based on existing graphic material created by the Town.

This Animation Video was the recipient of a 2017 AVA Digital Award, and 2017 Hermes Award.

Our process for this project:

  • Script review and development focused on promoting viewer engagement.
  • Creation and confirmation of animation look and style, to match with a pre-existing Town of Newmarket original graphic.
  • Creation of an in-depth visual storyboard outlining the creative concept, approved by the Town.
  • Full graphic assets creation.
  • Provision of three video rounds of revision for a creative collaboration between executor and client.

Outcome:

The Town of Newmarket Stormwater Charge Animation Video showcases Arc + Crown’s flexibility with existing graphic content and brand representation. While the existing graphic was a single image, this video product required its own cartoon world, complete with motion, environments, and weather effects. For this reason, Arc + Crown focused on brand alignment. Arc + Crown consistently kept the client team informed about progress and openly received feedback and suggestions. The result was an award-winning video that showcases Arc + Crown’s ability to convey crucial facts and information in an eye-catching and entertaining way.

Blue Swan Financial Legacy Challenge
(Branded/Story-based Video)

Project Description:

Allan Madonik, wealth and health broker at Blue Swan Financial, wished to announce his corporate initiative, the Blue Swan Legacy Challenge, for charity. For each insurance policy he would sell, a portion of the proceeds would go to the non-profit organization Ve’ahavta’s mobile outreach van. This was a program that puts necessities and supplies in the hands of people experiencing homelessness and poverty.

Arc + Crown decided to create a storyline narrative focusing on Allan as a person, as a means to retell and recreate the heartfelt experiences and motivations underlying Allan’s purpose and mission.

Our process for this project:

• A thorough discovery meeting to dig deep into Allan’s three defining factors: His “Desire, Complexity, and Uniqueness”
• Creation of an in-depth storyboard that conceptualized a purposeful narrative arc
• Compiling of tailored interview prompts to inch the subject towards providing story-relevant responses, while maintaining a natural dialogue.
• Branding discussions with both Blue Swan and Ve’ahavta to ensure all branding requirements (in terms of visuals and language) were respected for both associated parties.
• Creation of a detailed shoot schedule to ensure all planned shots could be achieved within the allotted time.
• Review process involved both Blue Swan and Ve’ahavta for approval from all related parties.
• Final delivery of the finished product

Outcome:

The Blue Swan Legacy Challenge is Arc + Crown’s testament to the time-honoured adage that “emotion is key.” While the purpose of the project was to showcase Blue Swan’s commitment to their corporate responsibility, the overarching goal of this video was to maintain the authenticity of Allan’s experiences and message. This project also displays Arc + Crown’s commitment towards brand requirements. Ve’ahavta set clear limitations to ensure that the proper respect and dignity was granted to individuals with their faces shown in the video, many of whom were experiencing difficult times such as homelessness and poverty. Arc and Crown worked closely with Ve’ahavta and Blue Swan’s teams to ensure such respect was given.
