How to embed a video into an email while ensuring playability.
The most unappealing way to email a video out is through a URL link, because the viewer won’t know what they’re about to click on. Here’s a better way to get their view.
Create a thumbnail for your video – screenshot a frame of your video that attracts attention. For even better click results, add a play button on the image. If you don’t have Photoshop, you can use Canva, MS Paint or even search for a free site that places play buttons onto images.
Once you have that, in your email, attach and select the image, then press “Insert Link” and paste your URL in. To be safe, we suggest still putting in the text URL underneath it for email clients that block images.
That’s it! Now most emails users will receive your email and see a thumbnail that goes straight to your video!
